2025 Design Award Building Tours: The Corbel Crawl

Starting in October, join us for a series of building tours (affectionately called “The Corbel Crawl”) throughout the New Orleans area, highlighting the winning designs from our 2025 Design Awards in July! These tours will spotlight some of the year’s most inspiring award-winning projects, offering architects and design enthusiasts a chance to go beyond the renderings and experience the built work up close. Each tour will feature insightful presentations from the design teams behind the projects, giving attendees a behind-the-scenes look at the process, challenges, and innovations that brought these exceptional spaces to life.
Scheduled tour sites include the historic David Crockett Steam Fire Engine Station #1 in Gretna, the thoughtfully designed River & Lake Residence Halls at Tulane University, the revitalized Spyre Center in Downtown New Orleans, and the striking Vaulted House Renovation in Metairie. Attendees will enjoy walking tours, happy hour refreshments, and the opportunity to earn AIA Learning Units (LUs). This is a unique chance to connect with fellow practitioners, discover local design excellence, and deepen your appreciation for the work shaping our built environment.
Tours are open to both AIA members and the public, with discounted tickets available for AIA New Orleans members and affiliates at $15, and $30 for nonmembers. Whether you’re looking to earn continuing education credits or simply reconnect with the architecture community in a meaningful way, these tours promise inspiration and camaraderie. More details and dates are coming soon, along with sponsorship opportunities for firms and companies eager to support and engage with New Orleans’ thriving design scene.
