About our Panelists:
Giulia Irwin, AIA, NCARB, IIDA, NCIDQ
Giulia was born and raised in Metairie, Louisiana before heading to the University of Southern Mississippi for her B.S. in Interior Design and then on to the University of Minnesota for her Master’s in Architecture. Giulia received 5 years of experience in facilities management and 3 years in commercial architecture and interior design before joining the healthcare team at AQ Studios.
Giulia is passionate about the way architecture and interior design is a collaborative effort across specialties that can affect the human experience by changing even the smallest of details. She believes that communication and thoughtful design are key to addressing client needs and producing innovative, efficient, and beautiful spaces.
Calvin Gallion, AIA, NCARB, NOMA, LEED Green Associate
Originally from Natchitoches, Louisiana, Calvin is an architect based in New Orleans at studio^RISE, an architecture firm that wants to be a positive force with lasting relationships with projects, clients and the communities they serve. Calvin received his Masters in Architecture from Tulane University, and currently serves as co-chair for AIA New Orleans Small Firm Exchange (SFx) and on the Board of AIA Louisiana as the Associate Director. Professionally, he has worked on projects of varying sizes and has led teams for larger programs and designs, including single family residential, university work, dispensaries and restaurants. He’s worked with historic regulatory agencies, including the Vieux Carré Commission in New Orleans, the Historic District Landmarks Commission in New Orleans, the National Park Services and the Louisiana State Historic Preservation Office.
Blake Kidder, AIA
Blake grew up in the Acadiana region of Louisiana and moved to New Orleans after earning a Master of Architecture from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Acadiana left a lasting influence on his sensibility and design aesthetic and his work is characterized equally by respect for the past and anticipation of future change.
For Blake, design moves should be timeless, providing a lasting contextual impact of the community. As a team member of Trapolin Peer Architects since 2011, Blake has actively worked as project manager on many multi-family residential, hospitality, and adaptive reuse projects that renovate and strengthen the idiosyncratic urban landscape of New Orleans.[/one_third]
