SUMMARY:CoTE: Renewable Power Resiliency for Cleaner\, Safer Developments\, with Jeff Cantin of Solar Alternatives
DESCRIPTION:Join us for this Lunch & Learn session exploring the technical and economic benefits of solar energy and battery storage systems for both residential and commercial buildings. Lunch is included\, and this program is worth 1 AIA LU/HSW. The course will introduce the engineering principles behind solar power and energy storage before examining the unique challenges facing the electric utility grid—particularly along the Gulf Coast—and how outages and fossil‑fuel–dependent backup systems can negatively impact public health\, safety\, and welfare. Participants will learn how integrated solar and storage solutions improve building resiliency\, support life‑safety systems\, enhance indoor environmental quality\, and reduce emissions and long‑term risk\, while also gaining insight into financial structures\, life‑cycle costs\, and real‑world installation examples that demonstrate these benefits in practice. \nPresented by AIA New Orleans’ Committee on the Environment. Thank you to Jeff Cantin and Solar Alternatives for partnering with us as a Professional Affiliate Member. \n\n
