Beaux Arts Costume Ball 2023: Shift Shape
April 21 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
$40.00 – $5,000.00
Shift Shape
An Evening of Futuristic Decay
Presented by AIA New Orleans
Bending back onto the scene, this avant-garde and enchanting event is a celebration of our eclectic city, embracing the arts, architecture, culture, and music.
Guests, donned in costumes inspired by this year’s theme “Shift Shape”, will delight in a festive spring evening at The Industrial Garden – a hidden treasure within Faubourg Marigny operated by The Promise of Justice Initiative.
An unforgettable experience for all with an introspective study of sustainability and living with water in our past, present, and future. In one instance of eternity, how do we shift as our landscape shapes?
The evening begins at 6PM with our Patron Party, exclusive to our sponsors, honored guests, and patron party ticket holders. The Beaux Arts Ball will begin at 7PM in the Industrial Garden at Promise of Justice Initiative, and our After-Party will take place at 9PM.
About Shift Shape
Inspired by the Harold Fisk maps of the ever-shifting Mississippi River, this year’s theme embraces the kaleidoscope of memory, change, fluidity, loss, searching, and time.

About the Industrial Garden
The Industrial Garden is a hidden treasure in an urban environment. The property includes a 100-year-old historic building, a brick-paved courtyard, and a beautiful outdoor space enclosed by raw brick walls and exposed steel beams.
“You know, they straightened out the Mississippi River in places, to make room for houses and livable acreage. Occasionally the river floods these places. ‘Floods’ is the word they use, but in fact it is not flooding; it is remembering. Remembering where it used to be. All water has a perfect memory and is forever trying to get back to where it was.” – Toni Morrison
