AIA New Orleans CEUniversity Q3
November 4, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 4:30 pmFree – $20.00
Join AIA New Orleans for the opportunity to acquire CE credits during our CEUniversity series for Quarter Three. From 12PM to 4:30PM on Friday, November 4th, we will host four lectures from our Professional Affiliate Membership who will showcase new design and construction products for architects/designers to learn about.
Our lineup includes:
Build Better: Smart Solutions for Sustainable Construction, presented by Rebecca Cooley of AOS Interior Environments
The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated a myriad of construction headwinds and negative environmental impacts. In this course, we will address the advantages of adopting smart construction methods for critical stakeholders. We’ll also breakdown how to maximize design tools and effectively job cost smart construction methods against conventional estimating. Finally, we’ll dive into a few case studies, leaving attendees with replicable strategies for successful teaming.
Concrete Enhancement Technology that Works for Construction Projects, presented by Dewayne Thomas of Eco-Spec:
New construction concrete slabs suffer from the epidemic of not passing flooring and roofing field moisture testing guidelines in today’s compressed building cycle. We will review the magnitude of the problem, discuss the various causes, and offer proactive solutions that enable project teams to remove concrete moisture from the construction process effectively, efficiently, and with mitigated future liability.
Project Information Management and Construction Administration, presented by Chuck Perret of Centerline
Examine the Centerline technology solution to the problem of Project Information Management, with emphasis on transactional communication between the architect and GC during Construction Administration. Develop a deeper appreciation for the contractual and legal underpinnings of typical construction administration practices.
Rocket Science: Understanding The Modern Cladding Attachment System
Easily and efficiently fulfill design demands while meeting the requirements of structural and thermal performance through cladding attachment systems. Learn to identify thermal bridging in rain screen wall assemblies, magnitude of thermal loss with various cladding attachment methods, and strategies to minimize the loss. By the end of the class, you’ll be able to implement important fire, life, safety, and energy codes which influence exterior wall designs and decisions made during design.
